Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

  • 2 cups fresh or canned peach slices, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes, until frothy.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, granulated sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
    • Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
    • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a medium bowl, mix the chopped peaches, brown sugar, softened butter, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Rolls:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Punch down the risen dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it into a large rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
    • Spread the peach filling evenly over the dough.
    • Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
    • Cut the log into 12 even slices and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Cover the dish and let the rolls rise for an additional 20 minutes.
  4. Bake the Rolls:
    • Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Prepare the Glaze:
    • While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small saucepan until smooth.
  6. Glaze and Serve:
    • Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly.
    • Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls and serve.
