Orange Dreamsicle Salad is a creamy, dreamy delight that brings back memories of the classic orange creamsicle popsicles. It’s not heavy or overly sweet either. I think it’s a perfect summertime or potluck dish, and if you’re not a fan of marshmallows, feel free to omit them. It will still be undeniably delicious! If you’re looking for a light & refreshing dessert that’s not overly sweet, you’ve come to the right place.

When you make a creamy base with tangy orange gelatin and mix it with fluffy whipped topping and sweet mandarin oranges, you get the perfect salad. The addition of marshmallows just sends it over the top. I’ve really been in the mood for something cool and refreshing, and this dreamy salad reminds me of sunshine and summer days. Not a fan of marshmallows? Don’t worry, it’s still delicious without them.

Kitchen Equipment Needed:

  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Can opener
  • Large spoon
  • Refrigerator

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (3 oz) orange gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 can (11 oz) mandarin oranges, drained
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows (optional)

Directions:

  1. Prepare the Gelatin: In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the orange gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir well until completely dissolved. Add 1 cup of cold water and mix. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  2. Add the Pudding Mix: Once the gelatin has cooled, add the instant vanilla pudding mix. Whisk until smooth and thickened.
  3. Fold in the Whipped Topping: Gently fold in the whipped topping until well combined and the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Add the Fruit: Carefully fold in the drained crushed pineapple and mandarin oranges. Make sure the fruit is evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  5. Add the Marshmallows (Optional): If using, fold in the mini marshmallows until evenly distributed.
  6. Chill the Salad: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until the salad is set and chilled.
  7. Serve: Serve the Orange Dreamsicle Salad chilled. Enjoy this refreshing and creamy dessert that’s perfect for any summer gathering!

Indulge in this Orange Dreamsicle Salad, a perfect blend of creamy, tangy, and sweet flavors that will transport you back to the nostalgia of a classic creamsicle treat!
