Garlic Basil Scalloped Potatoes is a delightfully creamy dish that’s layered with tender potato slices, infused with fragrant garlic, and topped with fresh basil. - Large mixing bowl

- 9×13 inch baking dish
- Aluminum foil

Ingredients:
- 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Use a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife to thinly slice the potatoes. Place the slices in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the heavy cream and milk to the saucepan, and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then remove from heat.
- Add salt, pepper, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese to the cream mixture. Stir until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the cream mixture over the sliced potatoes in the mixing bowl, ensuring all the slices are well coated.
- Arrange half of the potato slices in an even layer in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle half of the chopped fresh basil over the potatoes.
- Repeat with the remaining potato slices and chopped basil.
- Pour any remaining cream mixture over the top of the potatoes and sprinkle the remaining grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
