Kitchen Equipment Needed:
- 9×9 inch baking pan
- Mixing bowl
- Electric mixer or hand whisk
- Spatula
Ingredients: For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the Cream Cheese Filling:
- 16 oz (2 packages) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- Prepare the Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Stir until well combined and the mixture resembles wet sand. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form an even crust.
- Prepare the Filling: In another mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy, using an electric mixer or a hand whisk. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Assemble and Bake: Pour the cream cheese filling over the graham cracker crust in the baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula. Smooth the top with the back of a spoon or spatula.
- Bake: Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Cool and Chill: Remove the pan from the oven and let the Cream Cheese Squares cool completely at room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate the squares for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Slice and Serve: Once chilled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the squares out of the pan. Cut them into squares of your desired size using a sharp knife. Serve chilled and enjoy!
