Cheesesteak Tortellini
Cheesesteak Tortellini is a rich, creamy, and flavorful dish that combines tender tortellini with the savory flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak.
Ingredients
- 1 lb 450 g cheese tortellini, fresh or frozen
- 1 lb 450 g ground beef
- 1 medium onion thinly sliced
- 1 large green bell pepper thinly sliced
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 cup 240 ml beef broth
- 1 cup 240 ml heavy cream
- 8 slices provolone cheese torn into pieces
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Tortellini
- Prepare the tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Vegetables
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another minute. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Brown the Ground Beef
- In the same skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
- Prepare the Sauce
- Lower the heat to medium. Return the onions and peppers to the skillet with the beef. Add beef broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add the Cheese and Tortellini
- Stir in the cooked tortellini. Scatter the provolone pieces over the top and stir gently until melted and fully incorporated into the sauce.
- Season and Serve
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.
