Cheese Bread is a delightfully savory quick bread that’s filled and topped with a rich blend of cheeses. It’s not heavy or overly greasy either. I think it’s a perfect side dish or snack, and if you’re not a fan of a particular cheese, feel free to substitute it with your favorite.

It will still be undeniably delicious! If you’re looking for a savory and cheesy bread that’s not overly complicated, you’ve come to the right place. When you make a moist and tender quick bread and pair it with the flavorful combination of melted cheeses, you get the perfect loaf. The addition of herbs just sends it over the top. I’ve really been in the mood for warm, comforting foods and this cheesy bread reminds me of cozy gatherings and homemade meals. Not a fan of one type of cheese? Don’t worry, it’s still delicious with your preferred cheese.

Kitchen Equipment Needed:

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Loaf pan
  • Spatula
  • Grater
  • Cooling rack

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, garlic powder, dried oregano, and dried thyme.
  3. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese to the dry ingredients, stirring to distribute the cheese evenly.
  4. In another mixing bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, and eggs until well combined.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out into an even layer.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
  8. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, slice and serve your Cheese Bread as desired. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
