  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Filling:
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup diced fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 6 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Glaze:
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
  • In a small bowl, mix the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  • Mix Dough Ingredients:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, melted butter, eggs, and yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead and Proof:
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  • Prepare the Filling:
  • In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon. In another bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Roll Out the Dough:
  • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a 16x12-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
  • Spread the Filling:
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture and diced strawberries on top.
  • Roll and Cut:
  • Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other. Cut into 12 equal pieces using a sharp knife or dental floss.
  • Second Rise:
  • Place the rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Prepare the Glaze:
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Glaze the Rolls:
  • Spread the glaze over the warm rolls, letting it melt into the crevices.
