  • 2 large eggs Add at room temperature.
  • 1 cup whole milk Can substitute with almond or oat milk.
  • 0.5 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water Incorporate carefully.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
  • Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry mixture. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.
  • Carefully mix in the boiling water; the batter will be thin.

Baking

  • Pour batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Once cooled, frost with your favorite chocolate frosting and enjoy!
