Preheating the oven to 375°F is the first step.
Following that, brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Once cooked, make sure to drain any excess fat from the skillet.
Mix black beans, diced tomatoes, corn, and green chilies in the skillet.
Add taco seasoning mix and water to it and stir the mixture to blend it perfectly.
In a baking dish that measures 9x13 inches, spread an even layer of half of the crushed tortilla chips on the bottom.
Use a spoon to spread the beef mixture onto the tortilla chips.
Sprinkle the beef mixture with 1 cup of shredded cheese, making sure it's well distributed.
Then, layer the remaining tortilla chips, beef mixture, and shredded cheese in the same manner.
Using foil, cover the baking dish and cook for 25 minutes.
Take off the foil and continue cooking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is entirely melted and begins to bubble.
Before serving, it is recommended to wait for the casserole to cool down for about 5-10 minutes.
