- Preheating the oven to 375°F is the first step.
- Following that, brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Once cooked, make sure to drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Mix black beans, diced tomatoes, corn, and green chilies in the skillet.
- Add taco seasoning mix and water to it and stir the mixture to blend it perfectly.
- In a baking dish that measures 9x13 inches, spread an even layer of half of the crushed tortilla chips on the bottom.
- Use a spoon to spread the beef mixture onto the tortilla chips.
- Sprinkle the beef mixture with 1 cup of shredded cheese, making sure it's well distributed.
- Then, layer the remaining tortilla chips, beef mixture, and shredded cheese in the same manner.
- Using foil, cover the baking dish and cook for 25 minutes.
- Take off the foil and continue cooking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is entirely melted and begins to bubble.
- Before serving, it is recommended to wait for the casserole to cool down for about 5-10 minutes.
