Ingredients
  

Coconut Filling

  • 2 cups shredded unsweetened coconut Use desiccated coconut for a finer texture.
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk Make sure it’s Halal-certified.

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips Opt for dairy-free chips for a vegan-friendly option.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by lining a square baking dish (8×8 inch) with parchment paper for easy removal later.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded coconut with sweetened condensed milk until the coconut is fully coated and can hold its shape.

Forming and Chilling

  • Press the coconut mixture firmly into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula. Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to set.

Melting Chocolate

  • Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl by heating in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until smooth.

Coating

  • Lift the chilled coconut layer out of the dish using the parchment paper and cut into bars or squares.
  • Dip each piece into the melted chocolate, making sure they are well-coated, and let the excess drip off.

Final Chill

  • Place the chocolate-coated bars back on the parchment-lined dish and chill in the refrigerator for another hour until the chocolate is firm.

Notes
