Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread is a delightfully moist and nutty treat that’s filled with the rich flavors of pecans and a hint of vanilla. It’s not heavy or overly sweet either. I think it’s a perfect dessert for any time of the year, and if you’re not a pecan fan, feel free to substitute with your favorite nuts.

It will still be undeniably delicious! If you’re looking for a dessert that’s not overly sweet, you’ve come to the right place. When you make this bread and pair it with a cup of coffee or tea, you get the perfect combination. The addition of pecans just sends it over the top. I’ve really been in the mood for a cozy treat and this delightful bread fits the bill perfectly. Not a fan of pecans? Don’t worry, it’s still delicious without them.

Kitchen Equipment Needed:

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • 9×5 inch loaf pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper or grease it well.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, light brown sugar, and vegetable oil until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and all-purpose flour.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Enjoy this Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread as a delightful treat with a cup of coffee or tea, or as a satisfying dessert any time of the day!
