Peanut Butter Hazelnut Swirl Cookies are delightfully soft cookies that combine the rich flavors of peanut butter and hazelnut in a beautiful swirl. They’re not overly sweet either. I think they’re a perfect anytime treat, and if you’re not a hazelnut fan, feel free to omit it. They will still be undeniably delicious!

If you’re looking for a nutty & indulgent dessert that’s not overly sweet, you’ve come to the right place. When you make soft and chewy cookies and pair them with a swirl of rich hazelnut spread, you get the perfect treat. The addition of hazelnut just sends them over the top. I’ve really been in the mood for a cozy snack and these dreamy cookies remind me of comfort and indulgence. Not a fan of hazelnut? Don’t worry, they’re still delicious without it.

Kitchen Equipment Needed

  • Mixing bowls
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup hazelnut spread (e.g., Nutella)

Directions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the Butter and Sugars:
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy using a hand mixer or stand mixer.
  3. Add the Peanut Butter and Egg:
    • Beat in the peanut butter until well combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  4. Combine the Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Swirl in the Hazelnut Spread:
    • Drop small dollops of hazelnut spread into the cookie dough. Gently fold and swirl the hazelnut spread into the dough with a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Scoop the Dough:
    • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake the Cookies:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers will look slightly underbaked but will firm up as they cool.
  8. Cool the Cookies:
    • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  9. Enjoy:
    • Enjoy your Peanut Butter Hazelnut Swirl Cookies, a perfect blend of nutty goodness and rich indulgence.

These Peanut Butter Hazelnut Swirl Cookies are the perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth with a nutty twist. Enjoy!
