Kitchen Equipment Needed:

  1. Large skillet or sauté pan with lid
  2. Mixing spoon or spatula
  3. Chef’s knife
  4. Cutting board

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces wide egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cook the Noodles: Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the Chicken: In the same skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add diced onion, minced garlic, carrots, and celery. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together chicken broth, heavy cream, flour, dried thyme, dried sage, and dried rosemary until smooth. Pour the mixture into the skillet with the cooked vegetables, stirring well to combine.
  5. Simmer the Sauce: Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Add Chicken and Peas: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, along with frozen peas. Stir to combine.
  7. Combine with Noodles: Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet, tossing gently until everything is well mixed and heated through.
  8. Serve: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve the Chicken Pot Pie Noodle Skillet hot. Enjoy the comforting flavors of this delicious one-pan meal!
