– 1 package of puff pastry, thawed
– 8 oz cream cheese, softened

– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 egg (for egg wash)
– 1 can cherry pie filling
– Powdered sugar (optional for dusting)

### Directions:

1. **Preheat Oven**: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. **Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling**: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
3. **Cut the Puff Pastry**: Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into rectangles or squares depending on the size of danish you prefer.
4. **Assemble the Danish**: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each puff pastry square. Add a spoonful of cherry pie filling on top of the cream cheese.
5. **Fold the Pastry**: Fold the corners of the pastry toward the center, overlapping them slightly. Press gently to seal.
6. **Egg Wash**: In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush the edges of each pastry with the egg wash to give it a golden brown finish.
