Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook Spaghetti: Cook 12 oz spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare Sauce: In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and cook for another minute.
  4. Brown Meat: Add 1 pound ground beef or turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Add Marinara: Stir in 24 oz marinara sauce and 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Mix Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine 8 oz softened cream cheese and 1/4 cup sour cream until smooth.
  7. Assemble Dish: In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked spaghetti. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the spaghetti, then layer the remaining spaghetti on top.
  8. Add Sauce: Pour the meat sauce evenly over the spaghetti. Sprinkle 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve and enjoy!
