  • 3 pieces ripe bananas The more brown spots, the better!
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar Can mix white and brown sugar for extra flavor.
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch none salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth, leaving some small chunks for texture.
  • Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas. Then, add the beaten egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  • Mix in the sugar, baking soda, and salt to the banana mixture until well combined.
  • Stir in the flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Transfer the batter to the greased loaf pan, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try using brown sugar instead of white. Consider folding in chopped walnuts or pecans for added crunch. Let the bread sit for a day for improved flavor.
