Ingredients

For the meatloaf

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef (80% lean)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 2 large Eggs for binding
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Milk for moisture
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce for flavor enhancement
  • to taste Salt and Pepper

For the glaze

  • 1/2 cup Ketchup for the glaze, plus extra for topping

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly, but don’t overwork it!
  • Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, shaping it so it’s smooth and compact.
  • In a small bowl, combine ketchup with a dash of Worcestershire sauce, then spread a generous layer on top of the meatloaf.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C). Check halfway through and add more glaze if desired.
  • Once it’s done, let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days, or sliced and frozen for up to 3 months. To reheat, place back in a 350°F oven for about 25 minutes, covered with foil.
