Ingredients
  

Cake Batter

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Any brand will work
  • 3 pieces eggs Room temperature for better mixing
  • 1 cup water Adjust for fudgier cake, add less water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Filling

  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pecans Toast for added flavor and crunch
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet, dark, or white chocolate chips

Topping

  • as desired Whipped cream Optional, for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
  • Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the caramel sauce, chopped pecans, and chocolate chips. Spoon this mixture over the cake batter in the pan.
  • Pour the remaining cake batter on top, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool before serving. Serve with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for about a week. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap for best results.
