  • 1 lb ground beef you can substitute with lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Korean BBQ sauce adds flavor and moisture
  • 1 large egg acts as a binder
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • to taste salt and pepper for seasoning

Garnish

  • to taste green onions optional, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s hot when the meatloaf is ready to bake.
  • Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onions, minced garlic, Korean BBQ sauce, egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Use your hands or a spatula to mix everything together gently but thoroughly.
  • Shape the Loaf: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or a loaf pan, and shape it into a loaf. Make sure it’s even in size for even cooking.
  • Bake: Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes. The internal temperature should reach 160°F (70°C) when cooked through.
  • Serve: Once time is up, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired, slice, and serve!

Notes

Substitutions: Lean ground turkey can be used in place of beef. Avoiding Dry Meatloaf: Adding a bit more BBQ sauce or a splash of chicken broth can help. Let it Rest: Allowing the meatloaf to rest before slicing helps to lock in the juices.
