Ingredients

For the Marinade

  • 2 fillets salmon fillets (approximately 6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper

For Garnish

  • to taste Fresh herbs (like parsley or dill) For garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Let marinate for at least 10 minutes at room temperature or up to 30 minutes in the fridge.

Cooking

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high or your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • For grilling, place the marinated salmon skin-side down on the grill. Cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  • For baking, place the salmon in a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until cooked through.

Serving

  • Garnish the cooked salmon with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon if desired. Serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

Substitutions: Use trout or tilapia instead of salmon for variety. Avoid overcooking the salmon to keep it moist and flaky. Ensure there's enough space while grilling to allow even cooking.
