Ingredients
  

Brownie Base

  • 1 cup pitted Medjool dates Soaked in warm water before blending
  • 1 cup walnuts or almonds Your choice!
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Toppings

  • chopped nuts
  • coconut flakes
  • dark chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Soak the pitted Medjool dates in warm water for about 10-15 minutes to soften them.
  • In a food processor, blend the soaked dates, nuts, cocoa powder, almond flour, salt, and vanilla extract until you achieve a sticky mixture.
  • Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Spread the brownie mixture evenly into the lined baking dish and press down firmly.
  • Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to chill and set.
  • After chilling, remove the brownies using the parchment paper, slice them into squares, and enjoy.

Notes

Store the brownies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week; they can also be frozen for up to three months. Allow them to thaw at room temperature or warm in the microwave if desired.
