  • 1 pound Halal beef sausage Use any preferred brand as long as it's labeled Halal.
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded hash browns Can use frozen or fresh hash browns.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or your favorite cheese.
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup Use pure maple syrup for maximum flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt to taste Salt Adjust based on personal preference.
  • pepper to taste Pepper Adjust based on personal preference.
  • optional Green onions or parsley for garnish Use fresh herbs for added flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Halal beef sausage until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  • In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, evenly spread the shredded hash browns across the bottom.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the hash browns. Scatter the cooked sausage on top, and finish with the shredded cheese.
  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the center is set and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Once baked, remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and garnish with chopped green onions or parsley if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes or microwave individual portions for 1-2 minutes.
