Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes for extra heat
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by cutting the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Pat them dry with a paper towel and season with salt and ground black pepper.

Sauce Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes. This will create a deliciously sticky sauce bursting with flavor.

Cooking Chicken

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned chicken pieces in a single layer.
  • Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and cooked through. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

Sauce Addition

  • Pour the honey mixture over the cooked chicken and stir well to combine, ensuring all the chicken pieces are beautifully coated.
  • Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and caramelizes.

Serving

  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for an extra touch. Serve it hot over rice or with your favorite sides.

Notes

For variations, increase red pepper flakes for more heat or add chopped ginger for a flavorful kick. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
