Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (about 6 oz each) Skinless and boneless for easy cooking
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (ensure it's Halal)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley or cilantro, for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the marinade over them. Cover and let them marinate for about 15-30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Place the fillets in the hot skillet, skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown on the bottom.
  • Carefully flip the salmon fillets, and pour the remaining marinade over the top. Reduce the heat to medium.
  • Cook for another 4-5 minutes or until the salmon is just cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  • Once cooked, remove the salmon from the skillet and transfer to a serving platter. Drizzle with any remaining sauce from the skillet and garnish with fresh herbs and lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days or freeze for up to one month. When reheating, gently warm it in a skillet over low heat with some water to retain moisture.
