  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use alcohol-free vanilla extract.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well to mix.
  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Add the pecans to the melted butter mixture and stir to coat.
  • Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the pecans and toss to coat thoroughly.
  • Spread the coated pecans onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and fragrant.
  • Allow the pecans to cool on the baking sheet; they will harden as they cool.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks or refrigerate for up to a month. Reheat in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 5-10 minutes to restore crispiness.
