Ingredients
  

For the brownie batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For structure.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Sweetness and texture.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Adds richness.
  • 2 large eggs Binds the mixture and helps with fluffiness.
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Essential for that chocolate flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder Makes the brownies rise.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances flavors.

For the filling and toppings

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter The star of our stuffing!
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional) For added decadence.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until well combined. Add the eggs and mix again until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix!
  • Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

Assembly

  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Dollop spoonfuls of peanut butter on top of the brownie base, then pour the remaining batter over it, spreading evenly.
  • (Optional) Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the batter.

Baking

  • Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. They can be frozen for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 15-20 seconds before serving.
