Ingredients
  

For the Cream Mixture

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese Use fresh mascarpone for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream Make sure it is cold for whipping.
  • ½ cup powdered sugar Gradually add to achieve desired sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor to the mascarpone cream.

For Layering

  • 1 package ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi) These form the base layer.
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced Use ripe strawberries for best taste.
  • ½ cup strawberry puree (optional for layering) Adds extra strawberry flavor.
  • Additional strawberries for garnish Fresh strawberries for topping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash and slice fresh strawberries and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, whipping until stiff peaks form.
  • In a separate bowl, gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream mixture until smooth.

Layering

  • Dip a ladyfinger into strawberry puree (if using) and layer it at the bottom of a glass dish. Repeat until the bottom is covered.
  • Spread a layer of the creamy mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, followed by a layer of sliced strawberries.
  • Continue layering ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, and strawberries until you reach the top of the dish, finishing with a layer of cream.

Chilling and Serving

  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to meld flavors.
  • Garnish with additional strawberries before serving.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh and ripe strawberries. This dessert can be made a day in advance for convenience. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
