  • 1 cup rolled oats Quick-cooking oats will give a softer texture, while old-fashioned oats offer a bit more chewiness.
  • 1 cup almond milk (or any non-dairy milk) Make sure it’s unsweetened to control the sweetness level.
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced Choose ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup Sweeten to your preference.
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract For that tantalizing depth of flavor.
  • 1 pinch salt To enhance all the flavors.

Optional Toppings

  • Chopped nuts, seeds, or a dollop of yogurt

Preparation

  • Set out a large mixing bowl or container with a lid.
  • Add the rolled oats, almond milk, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  • Stir until thoroughly combined. Ensure the oats are evenly coated.
  • Gently fold in the sliced fresh strawberries, making sure they are evenly dispersed throughout the mixture.
  • Cover the bowl or container with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate it overnight (or for at least 4-5 hours).

Serving

  • The next morning, give your oats a good stir, and they’re ready to serve! Top with additional sliced strawberries and any other toppings you desire.

Notes

These oats are best enjoyed fresh, but they can easily store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For a warm breakfast, simply microwave for about 30 seconds.
