Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature butter for best results.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Substitute with favorite chocolate chunks if desired.
  • 1 cup crushed Oreos Ensure Oreos are halal-certified.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  • Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed Oreos.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds or in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 5-10 minutes.
