Ingredients
  

  • For the chocolate pudding layer:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the topping:
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish or casserole dish and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cocoa powder for the chocolate pudding layer.
  • Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • In another mixing bowl, combine the sugar and cocoa powder for the topping. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the baking dish.
  • Carefully pour the boiling water over the entire mixture in the baking dish. Do not stir.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is set and the edges are bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
