Ingredients
  

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Fresh or thawed
  • 1 cup sour cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt
  • 1 packet onion soup mix Adds flavor to the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For searing the chicken
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning chicken
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Enhances the flavor
  • as needed Fresh herbs For garnish, optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

Cooking

  • In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Once hot, add the chicken breasts and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • In a bowl, mix together the sour cream and onion soup mix until well combined.
  • Pour the sour cream mixture over the seared chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Serving

  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after removing from the oven.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove with a splash of broth or water to keep it moist.
