  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs use room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips optional for added indulgence

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently.
  • If using, fold in chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spaced apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers look soft.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for best results. Do not overbake; cookies will continue to cook on the baking sheet.
