  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Chocolate Chips

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to mix and match chocolate types.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  • Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop dough balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked—that's perfect!
  • Let the cookies cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months. Microwave for 10-15 seconds before serving.
