Ingredients
  

For the Treats

  • 4 cups Rice Crispy cereal
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows 1 package
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup caramel candies (unwrapped)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
  • 1/2 cup crushed peanuts for topping, optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with some butter or cooking spray to ensure easy removal later.
  • In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir constantly until they’re completely melted and smooth.
  • Remove the pot from the heat, then stir in the creamy peanut butter until well combined with the melted marshmallows.
  • Gradually add the Rice Crispy cereal to the marshmallow mixture. Use a spatula to gently fold the cereal in, ensuring every piece is coated.
  • Press half of the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a small saucepan, melt the caramel candies over low heat until smooth. Spread this over the Rice Crispy layer, followed by an even distribution of chocolate chips.
  • Gently press the remaining Rice Crispy mixture on top.
  • Allow the treats to cool for about 20 minutes. Once set, cut them into squares, and sprinkle with crushed peanuts if you’re feeling adventurous!

Notes

For a nut-free version, use sun butter instead of peanut butter. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or freeze for up to three months. Warm in the microwave for 10-15 seconds before serving for optimal gooiness.
