Ingredients
  

For the quesadilla filling

  • 1 pound Ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 4 large Tortillas
  • 2 cups Shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite blend) Monterey Jack or pepper jack can also be used for additional flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For cooking the beef.

For the toppings (optional)

  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Avocados
  • Mayonnaise or other sauces

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, seasoning with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Break the meat into smaller pieces while it's cooking for that perfect 'smash' effect.

Assembly and Cooking

  • Take one tortilla and spread half of the shredded cheese on one half of it.
  • Add a layer of the cooked beef on top, then sprinkle the remaining cheese over the beef. Fold the tortilla in half.
  • In the same skillet, place the folded quesadilla and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until it's golden and crispy. Repeat this step with the remaining tortillas.

Serving

  • Once they are cooked, slice them into wedges, and serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For best results, do not overstuff the quesadillas to prevent them from falling apart. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days and reheat in a skillet for the best texture.
