Ingredients

For the Quesadillas

  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with turkey, chicken, or plant-based options.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 large tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheese Cheddar or a blend recommended.

Fresh Toppings

  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 medium avocado, sliced Optional.
  • Salsa or your favorite burger sauce for dipping

Instructions

Cooking the Beef

  • In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula while it cooks. Season it with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes.

Preparation of Quesadillas

  • Lay one tortilla on a flat surface. On one half of the tortilla, sprinkle a generous layer of cheese, then add a portion of the cooked beef on top. Add some more cheese on top of the beef for that melty goodness.

Cooking the Quesadilla

  • Fold the tortilla in half to create a half-moon shape. In the same skillet, add a little oil to lightly grease the bottom and place the folded quesadilla in it. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden and crispy, adding more oil as necessary.

Serving

  • Once cooked, remove the quesadilla from the skillet and let it cool for a minute. Cut into wedges and serve with fresh toppings like lettuce and tomato, and don’t forget the salsa for dipping.

Notes

Leftover quesadillas can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet for best texture.
