Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 large head green cabbage, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced Use fresh for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese Divided into two portions.
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by chopping the cabbage into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife or food processor.
  • Mince the garlic cloves finely to release their robust flavor during cooking.
  • In a large bowl, toss the chopped cabbage with the minced garlic, butter, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese.

Cooking

  • Transfer the cabbage mixture into your slow cooker. Cover it with the lid and set it on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally if possible to ensure even cooking.
  • During the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese on top to create a cheesy crust.

Serving

  • Once done, serve hot as a side dish and enjoy the burst of flavors!

Notes

If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop, or freeze for up to 3 months. Consider mixing different types of cabbage for unique flavors.
