Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into bite-sized pieces For a leaner option, substitute with halal sirloin or flank steak.
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup beef broth Ensure it's halal-certified.
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter Melt for the sauce.
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced For maximum flavor infusion.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Or to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by cutting the beef chuck into bite-sized pieces and the potatoes into cubes. Mince the garlic.

Layering

  • Place the cubed potatoes at the bottom of your slow cooker. Lay the beef cubes on top, followed by the minced garlic.

Making the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, melt the butter and mix in the beef broth, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
  • Pour this sauce evenly over the beef and potatoes.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. The longer it cooks, the more tender the beef will become.

Serving

  • Once cooked, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a pot over medium heat or use the microwave, adding extra broth if needed to keep moist.
