  • 4 pieces chicken breasts Can also use thighs for more moisture.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Can substitute with coconut sugar or maple syrup for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste salt Use according to preference.
  • to taste pepper Use according to preference.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

Sauce Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Stir until the sugar is mostly dissolved.

Cooking

  • Drizzle olive oil at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • Place the seasoned chicken breasts on top, and pour the balsamic mixture over the chicken.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low. Cook for about 4-6 hours or until the chicken is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
  • For a quicker option, set it to high for 2-3 hours.

Serving

  • Once done, carefully remove the chicken, shred if desired, and serve with sides like rice or steamed vegetables. Drizzle additional sauce on top.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding red pepper flakes or fresh herbs such as rosemary or thyme. Ensure not to overcook the chicken.
