- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup diced bell pepper any color
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 can tomato sauce 15 oz
- 1 cup Sloppy Joe sauce store-bought or homemade
- 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or mozzarella
- 1 can biscuits refrigerated
- salt and pepper to taste
- jalapeños optional toppings
- green onions optional toppings
- sour cream optional toppings
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Add the diced bell pepper and chopped onion to the pan and sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 4-5 minutes.
Stir in the tomato sauce and Sloppy Joe sauce and allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes, letting the flavors combine.
Pour the meat mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
Open the biscuit can and cut each biscuit into quarters, then arrange the biscuit pieces on top of the meat mixture.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top of the biscuits.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Cool slightly before serving and add optional toppings if desired, such as jalapeños for a kick or sour cream for creaminess.
