Shrimp and Garlic Pasta

- 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
- 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup white wine optional
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Cook Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, if using, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Deglaze Pan: Pour in the chicken broth and white wine, if using, and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the liquid reduces slightly.
Combine Ingredients: Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back to the skillet. Pour in the lemon juice and toss everything together until well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
