  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup white wine optional
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  • Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  • Prepare Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, if using, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Deglaze Pan: Pour in the chicken broth and white wine, if using, and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the liquid reduces slightly.
  • Combine Ingredients: Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back to the skillet. Pour in the lemon juice and toss everything together until well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
