Ingredients

For the Stir-Fry

  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 bunch asparagus (trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces) Fresh asparagus preferred.
  • 8 oz mushrooms (sliced) Any variety of mushrooms works well.
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 inch piece ginger (grated) Use fresh ginger for better flavor.
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or other cooking oil) Choose a suitable cooking oil.
  • 1 tsp sesame oil Adds a nice flavor dimension.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by washing and slicing all your vegetables to make the stir-frying process easier.
  • In a large wok or frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it sizzles.

Cooking

  • Add the shrimp to the pan. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set them aside.
  • In the same pan, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn them.
  • Toss in the asparagus and mushrooms. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
  • Return the cooked shrimp to the pan along with the soy sauce and sesame oil. Stir everything together and let it cook for an additional 2 minutes to blend the flavors.
  • Add black pepper to taste, give it one last stir, and enjoy your beautiful stir-fry!

Notes

For best results, don't overcrowd the pan, and use the freshest ingredients available. Feel free to experiment with different sauces or add more vegetables.
