  • 1 whole rotisserie chicken (shredded) Shredded from the bone
  • 12 pieces slider buns (or mini hamburger buns)
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce (or sauce of choice)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup sliced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise (optional) Use if desired
  • ½ cup shredded cheese Your choice of cheese

Preparation

  • Remove the meat from the rotisserie chicken, shredding it into bite-sized pieces. Discard the bones and skin.
  • In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken with your chosen barbecue sauce. Mix well until the chicken is evenly coated. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the slider buns on a baking sheet and warm them in the oven for about 5 minutes, just until they are soft.

Assembly

  • Take a slider bun, add a generous portion of the shredded chicken mixture, followed by shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and any additional toppings like cheese or mayonnaise.
  • Close the slider with the top bun, and serve immediately.

Serving

  • These sliders can be garnished with more sauces or fresh herbs for some extra flair!

Notes

Feel free to swap out the barbecue sauce for hot sauce or ranch dressing for a different flavor profile. You can shred the chicken and mix it with the sauce a day ahead to save time. Don’t overstuff the sliders. Keep assembled sliders in a low oven until you’re ready to serve.
