Seafood Ingredients

  • 1 lb crab legs, precooked
  • 1 lb mussels, cleaned Ensure mussels are fresh and from a reliable source.

Vegetables

  • 2 ears corn, halved Sweet corn pairs well with the seafood.
  • 1 lb baby potatoes, halved or quartered Cut to ensure even cooking.

Seasoning and Extras

  • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning Adjust according to taste.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 whole lemon, halved Squeeze juice over seafood for flavor.
  • to taste Salt Use it to enhance flavor of the dish.
  • Water (enough to fill your pot)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by cleaning the seafood. Rinse the shrimp under cold water, ensuring the shells are intact. Rinse the mussels and remove any beards. Halve the corn and potatoes as directed.

Cooking

  • In a large pot, fill with water making sure to allow enough space for the seafood and potatoes. Add salt and bring the water to a boil on medium-high heat.
  • Once boiling, add the halved baby potatoes and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are slightly tender.
  • After the potatoes, toss in the corn halves and Old Bay seasoning. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Finally, add the shrimp, crab legs, mussels, and minced garlic to the pot. Squeeze lemon juice over the top and toss everything gently. Allow to boil for an additional 5–7 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and the mussels open up.
  • Carefully drain the seafood mixture in a colander and transfer it to a large serving platter. Serve it hot with lemon wedges for garnish and a sprinkle of additional Old Bay seasoning, if desired.

Notes

Freshness is key: Always use fresh seafood when available; they make all the difference in flavor! Don't overcook: Pay attention to the timing; overcooked shrimp can turn rubbery, while mussels should open up perfectly. Substitutions: Feel free to swap out crab legs for additional shrimp or other halal seafood options. Don't forget to adapt the seasoning if you want to personalize it!
