  • 1 egg for egg wash (optional) For a golden finish on the crescents.

For the Dough

  • 1 8 oz package of crescent roll dough Use refrigerated or homemade dough.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even baking.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese (if using), garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until creamy.
  • On a clean surface, unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the triangles.
  • Place a generous spoonful of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each triangle and roll it up to form a crescent shape.
  • Beat the egg in a small bowl and lightly brush it over each crescent.

Baking

  • Place the rolled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let the crescents cool slightly before serving. They can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For variations, feel free to add spinach, bell peppers, or substitute turkey for sausage. Pair these crescents with dips like ranch or sweet-and-sour sauce.
