Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, covering the entire surface.
  • Lay the salted crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are close together but not overlapping.

Making the Caramel

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the salted butter.
  • Once melted, mix in the brown sugar and stir continuously for about 3-5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture becomes bubbly.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract to the caramel mixture.

Baking

  • Gently pour the caramel over the arranged crackers, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake the baking sheet in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until the caramel is bubbly.

Finishing Touches

  • Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the hot caramel layer immediately after removing from the oven.
