  • 4 ripe tomatoes, diced Use the ripest tomatoes for best flavor.
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 jalapeños, seeded and minced Adjust based on spice preference.
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • to taste salt

Preparation

  • Start by washing the tomatoes thoroughly. Dice them into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
  • Finely chop the red onion and add it to the mixing bowl with the tomatoes.
  • If you like some heat, take your jalapeños, seed them (unless you enjoy a spicy kick!), and mince them before adding them to the bowl.
  • Chop the fresh cilantro to release its amazing flavor and stir it into the mixture.
  • Squeeze the juice of one lime over the ingredients and sprinkle salt to taste.
  • Gently mix everything together until well combined. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can last covered in the fridge for 3-5 days. Avoid reheating; serve chilled. Let salsa rest for 15-20 minutes after prepping for flavors to meld.
