Main ingredients

  • 1 large head cauliflower Choose a large, firm cauliflower for better steaks.
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil Extra virgin olive oil is recommended for enhanced flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt Use your preferred type, such as sea salt or kosher salt.
  • to taste black pepper
  • optional lemon juice Freshly squeezed lemon juice for garnish.
  • optional fresh herbs Such as parsley or cilantro, for added flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Remove the leaves from the cauliflower and place the head upside down on a cutting board. Cut the cauliflower into thick "steaks" about 1-inch wide.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the cauliflower steaks and sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, coating both sides evenly.

Cooking

  • Place the seasoned steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Roast for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Once roasted, remove from the oven and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top if desired. Add fresh herbs or sauces for extra flavor.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes. For longer storage, freeze the steaks for up to a month.
