Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans, or line them with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
  • Slowly add the boiling water to the batter, mixing well.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Let the cakes cool for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
  • For the frosting, melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan. Mix in the cocoa powder until blended.
