Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Begin by greasing a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Melting Mixture

  • In a large saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.
  • Once fully melted, add in the mini marshmallows, stirring continuously until they are completely melted and smooth.

Flavoring

  • Remove the melted mixture from heat, and mix in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

Mixing With Cereal

  • Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into the melted marshmallow mixture and stir until well-coated.

Shaping

  • Using a greased spatula or your hands, press the mixture into the prepared baking dish evenly.
  • For added fun, use heart-shaped cookie cutters to make your Rice Krispie Hearts.

Cooling and Decorating

  • Let the mixture cool completely. Once set, cut into squares or use cookie cutters for heart shapes.
  • Add toppings like melted chocolate or candy hearts if desired.
